About Me

Irene has dedicated much of her career to advancing the understanding of the autonomic nervous system and its role in trauma, stress, healing, attention, creativity, and reflex maturation. She has also developed specialized expertise in treating the head and neck, integrating these approaches to support overall regulation, information processing, and functional development.

Her advanced training includes auditory integration therapies such as Therapeutic Listening® and Samonas Sound Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, lymphatic drainage of the brain, and intensive academic and brain integration programs. These programs combine Lindamood-Bell methodologies with other educational and neurological approaches to support foundational skills in reading, math, spelling, and comprehension.

With more than 35 years of experience working with children and extensive continuing education, Irene is recognized as an expert in the field of Occupational Therapy. Her innovative research and clinical insight have made her a sought-after lecturer, attracting practitioners from across the United States. She serves annually on the team at the Avanti Research Camp in Minnesota and has been a panel speaker for the past three years.

Irene also teaches professional development courses, including Treating the Head and Neck as an Etiology for Oral Motor, Motor Control, and Sensory Processing Problems and Emotion to Motion.
